Samuel Sunderland is a peruvian american actor, writer and director, that was born on January 23rd 2004 in Lima, Peru, and speaks english, french and Italian, besides spanish.

Samuel´s acting career started when he was 11 years old, being part of the drama play “King Oedipus” in 2015, produced by Teatro La Plaza, in which he performed next to renowned local actors such as Pietro Sibille and Paul Vega. The play completed a successful two and a half months, winning the local Premio Luces 2015 award in the Best Theatre Play category.

In 2016 he was asked to host, together with other kids, the first season of the documentary and reality TV show “Cazaventuras” produced by Identidad Peruana, a cable TV channel, which presented several topics of interest investigated from the children´s perspective.

On the same year, he played “Augusto” in the peruvian film “Guerrero” (2016), directed by Fernando Villarán and produced by Tondero Producciones. The movie told the story of the childhood of the international soccer player Paolo Guerrero.

In 2017 he was in another movie, “Gemelos sin Cura” (2017), directed by Carlos Landeo and produced by Star Films, in which he played “Roberto the altar boy” and shared scenes with the peruvian comedian Armando Villanueva, known popularly as Melcochita, and other renown actors as Claudia Dammert and Hernan Romero.

Then, in 2017, he was casted to be part of the new peruvian TV series “De Vuelta Al Barrio”, with the direction of Gigio Aranda and produced by América Televisión, in which he played Pedrito “Pichoncito” Bravo, the 12-year-old son of the main character played by the renowned actor Paul Martin. The TV series airs in prime time is settled in the end of the 1970s decade in Lima, Peru. He got to act with amazing cast, such as, Mónica Sánchez, Lucho Cáceres, Adolfo Chuiman, Yvonne Fraysinnet, Teddy Guzmán, Diego Bertie, among others. The series is the number one in the Peruvian television, winning several awards through the years.

In august 2020 he decided to start directing and presented his first short film: Distancia, written, directed, produced and starred by him during the pandemic. Distancia has over 60,000 views on YouTube. On may 2021 he premiered his second short film called Puñalada, also written directed and co starred by him.

He has taken acting and improvisation classes, as well as advance tap, musical theatre, singing and dancing, besides advances guitar and piano. Also, he has taken production and direction classes and has a YouTube channel in which he shares fun videos created and produced by himself.
